Why Bluetooth Accessory Battery Levels Can Jump or Lag
Your wireless headphones show 70% battery for a long time, then suddenly drop to 60%. An earbud may report a different level from its charging case, or your phone may show an old percentage for a while after you reconnect an accessory. These behaviours can look like a faulty battery, but the number on your phone is usually not a continuous measurement made by the phone itself. The accessory estimates its own battery state and reports information to the connected device. The phone, tablet, or computer then decides how and when to display that information.
