Why a Monitor Can Say No Signal Even When the Cable Is Connected
A monitor can be powered on, connected by a cable, and still show No Signal. The message is easy to misread: it usually does not mean that the monitor itself has no power, and it does not prove that the cable is broken. It means the monitor is not receiving a usable video signal on the input it is currently trying to display. That distinction makes troubleshooting much simpler. Instead of changing settings at random, you can treat the display setup as a short chain and find the point where the video signal stops reaching the screen.
