Why a Screenshot Can Look Different From Your Screen

You take a screenshot because you want to preserve exactly what is on the screen. Yet the saved image can look brighter, duller, warmer, or less vivid when you open it later or send it to someone else. That does not necessarily mean the screenshot failed. A screenshot usually captures image data produced by the device, while what your eyes see is that data after a physical display and its settings have turned it into light. Those are related, but they are not the same thing.
